One of the hardest moments in my life was the loss of my cousin, Gregory Mertens. Like me, Gregory was a professional footballer, and he tragically passed away at the age of 24 due to a cardiac arrest during the match between KRC Genk and Sporting Lokeren. I'm not a man of many words and tend to keep my emotions to myself, but through this piece, I want to pay tribute to Gregory and honor our family.
